"My art engages the viewer in looking, lingering, and responding. Although I use various methods of fiber manipulations that have historical origins relating to many ancient cultures, I never wanted to produce traditional tapestry. I love exploring change and growth – things that look one way and turn into something else. By manipulating the interplay of texture, color, line and shape, I find the final assembly contains a dialogue, which goes beyond its origin. From my eclectic accumulation of materials and objects, I imbue some with humor, nostalgia, joy, or unexpected weight, thus revealing old/new, quiet/unquiet, and soft/hard. In juxtaposing these incongruous assemblages, I am looking beyond the outer form for the suggestion of an inner meaning; to capture the magic in the 'ordinary'."
